About us and our Story

At Gratefulpain our Story started Years ago, we had a question: why was it so difficult to find high-quality, unique BDSM & fetish items? We started using fetish and bondage gear a long time ago and fast realized the products on the market didn’t fit our needs. We fast became fed up with ill-fitting and poorly made mass produced fetish and BDSM Gear such as cheap spanking paddles.

Founded in 2010 Gratefulpain was to fulfill a need for a better BDSM and fetish toys. After making and selling many customized items to friends within the BDSM community we decided to take the plunge and create this website. Fetish and BDSM equipment should be functional and strong. But why can’t it be comfortable to use and look good? This is also a driving force behind what we do here at Grateful Pain, in essence, making pain beautiful.

What started as an outlet for our passion quickly grew into much more.

We apply common sense and research to figure things out as they came up. I’ve found that the best way of learning is by doing. We take all of our products out for a spin and have others critique them only adding them to our stock list when they are full problem solved. All items are handcrafted here in the UK by us here at Gratefulpain and can all be adapted in many different ways to perfectly fit your needs and lusts.

With 20 years in the Joinery trade working for many years producing windows, doors and other internal joinery products and furniture serving many years learning different techniques and production methods. We have also had and a long passion for fetish and BDSM.
Our Story started in our journey into fetish us we found the range of products available to be lacking in design and passion. So using our skills we set out making some early spanking paddles for use in our own bedroom. After showing the paddles around to friends at a local munch we soon had orders for paddles. This soon grew to make resin dildos and furniture for a local mistress. This close connection to others in the community and the help from pro doms has helped us produce what we feel are some fantastic products it’s still the creative process that fuels me to keep going.

We pride ourselves on using only the best materials and source our timber direct from the tree milling and kiln drying all our own timber giving us great scope and flexibility to our products. Always looking for more high-quality hardware and fixings for our products. Able to take your ideas and turn them into a reality helping whether that be as simple spanking paddles or a fully equipped dungeon setup. Able to produce items in many mediums. We have many helpers who offer specific sets of skills to help us in our quest to produce the best equipment we can.

Ever since the beginning, Gratefulpain has been about our passion for high-quality, well-designed unique fetish items. We’ve grown in a lot of ways, but at our core, we’re still the same. Every item is still personally handmade and finished, We think the designs have to mature alongside our own tastes and experiences. Always looking for new ways to improve our skills learning leatherworking skills and looking into new machinery to open up and expand the products and designs we create. We hope to start producing more large items with ideas for convertible tables and beds that wouldn’t look out of place to any vanilla person but within a few moments would delight the eyes and spirit of any fellow kinkster.

We are currently working on resin and wood combinations embedding items into the resin to give truly amazing results. The finishing and staining are an ever growing and evolving progressing skill for us. Constantly experimenting with methods to find new and exciting ways to add more beauty and functionality to our products. Metal has been a material we have wanted to have more involvement in our work. Combining the precision quality of this metal with the warmth of wood is just one of the future paths for us.
